WebstaurantStore 3D Modeler - Hard Surface interview questions

This was the strangest interview I've had. Many questions had nothing to do with the job. Pertinent questions showed a staggering lack of knowledge on their part. It was awkward and unorganized. The process dragged on for weeks. I was given an art test, not uncommon for this field. Though in this case it was arbitrary and ultimately a waste of time. My resume and portfolio were clearly beyond the requirements in experience and skill respectively. When I delivered the test asset, looking better than anything on their website, communication ended there. No feedback. Throughout the process it seemed they were trying to talk me out of the job. It became obvious that they're gating talent. I only wish they were more up front about it. WebstaurantStore should consider hiring people who are qualified to conduct interviews, or at the very least, set some standards. Maybe work with a third party so that talented applicants aren't disqualified.
