      Internship Interview

      Mar 20, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Weebly (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2015

      Interview

The interview process was a great survey of the applicants' skill sets and personalities – one of the best interviews I've ever had. There were three stages. First was a small take-home quiz, and none of the questions were too hard and some of them were about your opinion. Very manageable and interesting. You have about a week to do it. Next comes a 30-45 minute technical interview, which was a little bit more challenging. Finally, if those go well, they fly you out to their office in SF and you work on a project for around one and a half days before presenting it to their engineering team. Both the take home test and the interview were very manageable. The trip to SF, though, was something else. They had me stay at a superb hotel in a great area, and they exposed me to all of their perks, including the chef-prepared food and massages. Plus, the recruiter Kate was incredibly helpful and nice! She did an awesome job. Weebly was very open with the structure of the interview process, and it was reassuring. They were also flexible to my past experience, and gave me interview questions accordingly. I don't think they could assess the skill of their candidates any better.

      Interview

Very quick process. Three stages. First there is a small take-home quiz, not particularly difficult. Very manageable and easy. Afterwards a video chat with an engineer for 30 or so minutes to check basic technical competency. Afterwards a 2 day trial period at Weebly. You get to experience the full perks and feel of how it is to work at Weebly. Really superb experience, I was quite sad when I didn't get it. You get given a trial assignment and you present your work or progress at the end of the second day. You hear back yes or no a few days afterwards.
