Awesome company, fantastic interview experience. I was incredibly impressed by the company and everyone I met there. Of all of the companies I had interviewed with, they definitely stood out as one of the most professional with their processes, had some of the most driven, motivated developers, and a company culture that seemed very genuine. It's not at all where I thought I would end up at first, but I'm so glad I applied and went through the full process. The tech recruiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. He did an exceptional job communicating throughout the entire process. They were very accommodating with scheduling while dealing with timezone differences. The whole process moved fast on their side, took about a month and a half, mostly because they were being very flexible around my schedule. Had a chat with the manager of the development team a few days later who asked some general background questions and a couple of high level questions. There was also a pretty small coding project that covered some of the basics of the stack that they gave a couple of days to turn back in. Nothing abnormal there. The in person interview was fantastic and was really what surprised me the most. Met with a rotation of people, all of whom were attentive, interesting, and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. They weren't interested in quizzing me on derrived canned questions, it was much more about getting to know them and the company. And it worked, too, because each conversation made me think to myself "Wow, now that is the kind of person I'd love to have on my team on any project." The on site interview was the first I realized exactly what kind of company Weedmaps is, it exceeded all of my expectations by far. If you think it sounds potentially interesting, just apply and see what happens. You may be very pleasantly surprised!
