I was referred in and contacted the hiring manager directly. She asked me for writing samples and my resume. A few weeks later, I followed up with her and she said they were in the midst of reviewing candidates, but she’d be in touch. A few weeks later, I saw the freelance positions posted online. I followed up with her again a few days later, only to be told that someone had just been hired and she was sorry that my information had been overlooked. Wait ... what??
