I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Weedmaps (Irvine, CA) in May 2019
Interview
The process was 2 weeks. Standard process is your progress through the stages:
- recruiter interview
- hiring manager VC
- case study (if you know how to prospect research)
- final round with 5 ppl: some on your team and other departments
If you prepare well you will have a good shot! Everyone was awesome and transparent. They made sure i understood the role and challenges and evaluated if i was a good fit. They care about the company and want to make sure you are going to come and hustle too! Be specific with your experience and how it can help the company! Be specific and highlight benefits!
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
How do you manage unrealistic expectations with your clients?
The process was easy and very straight to the point. Every person I spoke to was very nice and direct. I didn't feel like they dragged it on and it was actually an overall great experience. Although I did not continue in the interview process I do genuinely think that they have a good recruitment process and think that they have some of the best recruiters.

Case study
Meet the team- last round I didn’t get. Only critique I received was, “your pipeline strategy wasn’t strong”. I don’t understand what that even entails because I never got an actual feedback. If that was my only miss (even tho I highlighted that in detail) it makes me think they lied OR don’t know what a quality of an executive I actually am. I’m very disappointed in how they handled things and I’m starting to believe every single negative comment in here. I’m glad I didn’t get picked because I know my talent and what I’m capable of. Clearly this company doesn’t want to teach you anything about success & what that looks like.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Weedmaps in May 2021
Interview
I scheduled the interview via a boilerplate email sent with a link to the recruiter's calendar. At the set time, I was phoned and spent about half an hour interviewing. The interview was very surface level, and the recruiter seemed very new to his job. Questions were clearly read from a script and the responses to each question were acknowledged with a very canned "I see, I see," or "Okay, I get it" over and over. It was tough to make the interview conversational, which you would typically want for a sales role such as this. Maybe the recruiter was new, but the conversation lacked energy and nearly every word from them seemed scripted. I was told I would be contacted by the hiring team but was instead sent a canned email with no detail conveying the moved ahead with other candidates. It was a highly impersonal experience.
