I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter a couple days later. Had a very good conversation with the recruiter and he laid out the process, 2 video conferences and then an onsite. He also said, "we move very quickly". The first video conference was scheduled a week later where I talked to one of the VPs of engineering. The interview went very well (the recruiter said) and an interview was set up with the CTO. Second interview with the CTO went well and I was looking forward to next steps. A week went by and nothing. Another week went by and I sent the recruiter an email. He told me that they were looking at some things internal and he'd get back to me. Two more weeks go by and I get a canned email with a "Unfortunately the timing of this role and the external news with coronavirus", HUH, what does the coronavirus have to do with the position? Start to the "unfortunately" finish was over 4 weeks. From the reviews on the company and the unprofessional way I was treated, I'm actually glad I didn't get the position.
