After the interview, I finally understood why this company has such a negative reputation. The recruiter was polite, professional, organized, and genuinely friendly. However, the hiring manager created an extremely uncomfortable experience.
Throughout the interview, the hiring manager acted as if they “knew everything,” frequently challenging my previous experience and unnecessarily “correcting” my expressions. While I tried to remain professional, the tone felt condescending.
The most unprofessional moment happened when I asked a standard question about their leadership style. The hiring manager responded, “We’ve been talking for so long, don’t you already know my style?” That level of disrespect was shocking and completely inappropriate for an interview setting.
Overall, the communication with the hiring manager was difficult and tense. I could clearly sense a toxic culture, and it’s easy to imagine the pressure and stress that would come with working under that kind of management. I’m glad I learned this early.
