Process took about 2 weeks. Had 2 Zoom interviews. First was with the recruiter and he was nice and attentive. Described the e-grocer company as a mix of distribution and retail. Second interview is with Director. At first, laid the agenda but as we spoke more, I could tell some things were off. Disengaged as the conversation went on. The person seemed to contradict what the recruiter told me about the company being distribution and retail and as I talked my experiences in that, claimed that it has nothing to do with the company. In this case, the person is referring to a "case study" which is honestly a question with no context whatsoever. The questions were general behavioral and non-technical and none pertained specifically to my experiences. Is Weee serious in hiring for this position or just fulfilling an agenda? I'd like to give this company a chance since the vision seems genuine and the services have made things accessible to low income families. There just seems to be a lot to work on from the top down.

Had an initial phone call with their recruiter. It seemed to me that he was reading sentences while telling me about the company and what they do, because everything was like robot is describing the company. Whenever I asked about the specific parts and the future of the company, they kept telling how the company is doing great and how fast they are growing without further details (which is suspicious). When I asked about the culture and overtime hours, they sounded like they got offended (like we do what we need to do, and if you don't like it then please go away). They positioned themselves as a tech company, but from what I heard during the interview, it sounded like just a mere retail shop with online platform where you can order groceries. In addition, the recruiter said that they were recovering from COVID, but their company doesn't allow remote work. Which brings a serious concern, if they were at work and there is high possibility that they might spread among others or even caught from others. Anyways, the only thing that pissed me off is that they turned me down first, where I was planning to turn them down.
