I was invited to 2 stages of interview with Welbilt. The first stage was a Teams call and the second stage was held in person at their offices based just outside of Guildford. After a seemingly positive 2 meetings with Chris, alarmingly I was fed back to by the recruiter that Chris believed me to be lying about my job history and experience amongst over things.
These are completely baseless accusations and a complete assassination of my character. If Chris really believed this to be true, why not ask my previous employers for a reference check?
Providing feedback is a useful practice for candidates but assassinating my character with baseless accusations pulled out of thin air is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I recommend that no one apply for work in this team and instead look elsewhere.
To the company: Provide useful and tangible feedback to candidates - and if you have any question marks on their work history, don’t string them along through the process and instead ask for clarity or conduct a reference check.
