My initial outreach from WellRight was through a LinkedIn email asking me to fill out an interview questionnaire. A few weeks later I receive a call from HR that they would like for me to come onsite. At this point I had not yet had a phone interview with anyone.
I scheduled the onsite and came in. It was a rather odd experience with 1 hr with the hiring manager and then half hr increments with engineering, QA/Product, CEO/Acct Mgmt. Some folks were really engaged and some not so much. It was an awkward experience trying to talk through my background and qualifications while trying to ask questions to understand the culture, environment and current progress of the organization (going from waterfall to agile).
I feel if I had phone interviews earlier on, we would have determined a fit (both ways) and I would have a better understanding of the landscape and what they were looking for ahead of time. It’s harder to interview not knowing what you are walking into regardless of the research you do head of time. (Glassdoor doesn’t have much to go by btw!)
