I applied for the Phone Banker 1 position in the Consumer services Department at Wells Fargo Bank call center in El Monte, CA. The process was fairly simple. I applied online on September 18th, 2017 and was immediately prompted to take a screening for the position. After passing the screening I was sent to a screen asking me to schedule a group interview, which I scheduled for Thursday September 28th, 2017.
At the group interview only 3 of us showed up and it was supposed to be 7. Our recruiter came to get us from the security desk and walked us over to where the interview would take place. There we were showed a PowerPoint of the company and position and asked 4 questions that we each had to take turnsome giving our own personal responses to. After that she gave us the job expectations and let us know what to expect during the interview process. After answering any questions we had, she invited all 3 of us to schedule for a one on one interview with a hiring manager. I chose that following Monday October 2nd, 2017.
The one on one interview was with a very nice woman who had been with the company for years. She asked a variation of the same four questions from the group interview and asked a little about myself and personal life and job experiences. After answering my questions she told me to expect an answer within two business days.
A week later, that following Monday October 9th, 2017, I still had not received any word back so I called my recruiter and was told that I had received a job offer but they were backed up due to very understandable unforseen personal problems beyond my hiring managers control, so she was just going to call me and the others back that morning. She discussed the training schedule and allowed me to choose my schedule for after training.
Hours after receiving the verbal offer I was sent I-9 documents and forms to sign, along with forms to fill out and sign regarding my fingerprints and background checks. I scheduled the fingerprints, at their expense, for that following day Tuesday October 101h, 2017 and received a call from my recruiter letting me know I was cleared that following day Wednesday October 11th, 2017. I start training on Monday October 23rd, 2017.
It was just a criminal background check, no credit check, no drug test for my position.
