Phone call to chat about the job... I thought it went well... chatted about wages and experience and set another appointment to talk to District Manager... Never called! No email! Unprofessional. Don’t get your hopes up on. This company!

I received a phone call the day after applying. It took less than 10 minutes. Basically, I was recited the resume that I had attached. Then asked about working in an area of town that wasn't where I had applied. I hesitated at first as the area was twice the drive than indicated in the ad. Even though it appeared as a "bait and switch" move, I still was positive about doing the drive, as it was explained they wanted to get people in as Assistant and move them to Manager within 2-3 months as they were opening about 9 more locations. So, I figured the drive wouldn't be a game changer in hopes that after a few months moved to a new location closer to where they had advertised the position. Also, to note, that when he was going over my resume, he seemed to miss that I had 20 years of retail management experience for a National Corporation because he never addressed that - which is the fit that I believe they'd be interested in. There was also no "pride" of the person about his company as he never told me anything about their culture, the work environment of the job, or what the job entailed. Not sure how you can conduct "an interview" without explaining the job, ask/receive confirmation of their interest after knowing what it entailed, and compare it to their qualifications. The person seemed very inexperienced in this area. The call lasted about 10 minutes and at the end told that he was doing a screening interview for his managers. The next day i received a rejection letter in my email. Too bad. Their loss of someone with 20 yrs of management experience was at their disposal.
