Fair and casual, there was an odd step to the HR end of things/offer process where they wanted a recommendation from my current boss which puts candidates in a terrible position when they don't have an official offer, especially if they have a manager who would be angry over job searching. After hire, I learned others simply refused to do that and HR backed down when they were hired. Go that route.
