I had an initial interview with the HR representative, which was pretty basic. She asked me about my experience and about some items from my resume. I was then offered an in-person interview with three librarians. They were very nice and accommodating. I felt pretty comfortable and was not asked any questions that threw me off track (this doesn't mean that you shouldn't be prepared, but the kinds of questions asked were pretty standard. They are big on how to handle the reference interview and prioritizing competing tasks, so be really prepared!). I was then asked back for a second interview. This is where I was thrown a curve ball. The same librarians were present. Immediately into the process, they asked me to role play, which I am not naturally very good at, in fact pretty bad at. They handed me a literature review and a document with some details about an actual research project they are working on. They wanted me to role play getting an assignment to continue research that had been previously done for a client and that would now require further research. I chocked during this part even though I've done so many reference interviews throughout my career. So, be prepared for something like this! I was also given a series of search strings and asked to interpret them, which I did fine on. If you don't know how to read search strings, then learn before the interview! Otherwise, the interview was pretty standard.
