I went through an initial phone screen with the recruiter, then two hour-plus long, in-depth zoom interviews. Then was invited on-site to interview with around 5 individuals. I had to fly out, spend the night before, spend a whole day interviewing and travel that same evening home, not returning home until 2 am, The interviews varied from experiential to behavioral based questions, but were not consistent across the board. I invested hours of my time and time away from my family to travel only to be sent a very cold "thanks, but no thanks" email from the recruiter a week later. When I followed up for some feedback I never heard back from the recruiter. This is unacceptable treatment of a candidate. I understand if a candidate is ultimately not a fit and doesn't get the role, but please remember that candidates are people who invest their time to interview and the very least you can do is give them some feedback into why they were not selected after giving you so many hours of their time. Shameful...do better! And this was for a RECRUITING leadership role! Feeling like I dodged a bullet.
