I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Westinghouse (Preston, North West England, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
I applied for this job and the whole process was long painful experience from application to interview stage. Firstly, they didn't have a salary range and you had to put a desired salary, I mean what do you do with this? So I put forward a figure that I believed I was worth.
A couple of months went by and I was asked to attend an interview. Before I said yes, I asked the internal recruiter (via email) if the salary expectations would be met, as I didn't want to waste my time, and also, their time. They said it was at the upper end, but that it was okay.
So I went ahead with the interview, which went well. Three people interviewed me over Teams, and I answered all of their questions in a comprehensive way. They said they would be in touch and then I waited.
Then I received an email stating the salary was £20k less than I had asked for on my application.
I was shocked at how they wasted my time and told them this. They said maybe they could work with me, and 3 months went by and still no communication. In the end I emailed them and told them I had been offered a better job.
A day later, they sent an email saying I was not successful from a Do-not-reply automated email - complete shambles, as I would work for them as they act in a highly unprofessional manner.
