I said I have learned that one style does not fit all teams depending on the team and service being provided and needs of each team member. I definitely like to keep my staff up to speed with organizational goals and help them understand where their work fits into the overall picture. I also like to involve staff in potential changes as much as possible, get their input. Sometimes they can point out reasons why its not a good idea that you didn't see or offer a tweak to the idea that will make it better. Doesn't mean you don't implement, but at least seeking their feedback and then explaining why it must move forward helps prepare them and makes them feel heard.
