I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Whatnot (New York, NY) in Oct 2025
Interview
Very straightforward but unnecessarily lengthy: recruiter screen, manager interview, case study submission with accompanying video (mine was 6 pages and took days to complete), case study review interview with mock call, behavioral interview, then final interview with a VP. Everyone I spoke with was great- very friendly and helpful. Platform knowledge and experience is a big plus. It’s also clear they’re looking for a very particular kind of candidate, this isn’t your typical AE role. They’re newly growing out the sales team and still have a lot to figure out (for better or worse)
Great interview process with quick responsiveness from the team and consistent follow ups from recruiter to ensure that interviews were scheduled quickly and at a time that worked with my schedule

What is one thing your past employer would say about you.

Interview
The interview process for the AE role was one of the most well-designed I've been through. My recruiter was awesome, engaged, and informative during the whole process. There were six stages total: recruiter screen, Sales manager intro, a case study, a combined case study review and mock roleplay, a behavioral round, and a final culture conversation. It sounds like a lot but every stage had a clear purpose and built on the last one.
Everyone I spoke with was kind, sharp, and genuinely bought in on what Whatnot is building. Come passionate, come with a real point of view, and take each stage of the process seriously.

Interview
One interview with an HR professional. Pleasant experience, standard questions. Second round with a Director. The overall process was quite standard. I did inquire about the reason for not continuing, but never received a response.
