I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wheels (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2018
Interview
I was contacted by their HR department who had reviewed my resume online and thought I’d be a great fit for the role. After I heard more about the position I thought it would be interesting and agreed to go in for an interview. I was certainly qualified, perhaps over qualified for the position but was open to the opportunity. However, when HR confirmed the salary rate, I had reservations as it was much lower than I was making previously. Even still I was open to the opportunity. After meeting with the first department manager I felt much more confident about the potential of the position, but then I met with a 2nd manager and it went downhill fast. The first thing she said was that they could only pay $52,000 max and she didn’t think they’d offer me the job because I made more than that and didn’t believe I’d be happy with it. I assured her that I was comfortable with the rate but she proceeded to repeat herself which made me extremely uncomfortable. After saying this several times she finally asked me questions about my experience and background.
I left not wanting anything to do with the organization but wanted to ensure that HR knew how awkward and uncomfortable I felt after meeting with this person.
Here’s some advice if salary requires are discussed prior to inviting someone in for an interview, the candidate shouldn’t be badgered about it in the interview. Additionally if the feeing is so strong that they won’t hire anyone who makes more than what they can offer don’t waste anyone’s time by inviting them for an in person interview.
My suggestion to anyone interviewing here, stay away because the salary is way under market rate for the workload.

We can’t offer you anything more than $52,000 are you still interested in the role? Why should I believe you?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wheels (Des Plaines, IL) in Jan 2020

Initial phone screening (15-20min) - very easy, straight forward questions. It sounded as if they were trying to hire someone quickly so after our discussion he scheduled my next interview with 2 hiring managers. I met with both individually - very easy, straight forward questions, some behavioral.
I passed that and was called in for a final interview with another hiring manager the following week. I attended and this one was much more difficult. Loaded with behavioral questions
