Interview
Recruiter rescheduled the first phone interview due to emergency,...fine...called me the other day at 6 am in the morning instead of 12 pm due to misunderstanding time zones...fine...during the first few minutes everything was fine questions asked were expected just behavioral questions. You would be good if you prepare for it. A question came suddenly 'do I need any sponsorship?'. I thought it was just another common question since I have been almost asked in every interview. However, it was not. My answer was YES to the question and the recruiter wanted to end our conversation because she had to consult her manger first about sponsorship. If her manger doesn't want to spend any expenses on sponsorship then we shouldn't waste our time on meaningless conversation. She mentioned she would call me back soon so I guessed she was going to chat with her manager right away and would call me in few minutes. Uh I waited for an hour, and skipped my lunch...I ended up sending an email asking if there was any response by the manger, and what she told me was we could continue our conversation if they agree on the sponsorship. I understand the situation, but come on. I mean, I spent a lot of time getting my resume and cover letter for the job application, including my personal information and especially my visa status. You are a recruiter of a global company and you cannot see my answer 'Yes' for the sponsorship question? I then don't understand why I should spend a lot of time submitting the application if you don't even see the basic answer for this basic question. I have never heard anything from them since that email, and I was really disappointed since I believe my skills and experience would be a very good fit for the position. I wish they didn't contact me at the first point. If you are not going to provide any sponsorship, then you should state it in the description of the position. People can see it then they wouldn't spend huge amount of time for job application and interview preparation.
