Interview
I met a project manager at a college career fair. We spoke for about 5 minutes and she was quickly impressed with my experience and skills. I was planning to move to another state after graduation so she said she would pass my resume along. Within a day I see the VP of the office I’m trying to work for look at my LinkedIn profile. He called about 20 minutes later to set up a time to interview. They flew me down to their office where I visited a job site and spoke to a few different levels of management in the field and in the office. I then went out to lunch with 5 of the guys from the office which was a very easy, informal way of getting to know each other. The day concluded with two more formal style interviews and I was flown back home. The next day the VP expressed their interest in my skills and experience and I received an offer. Great experience all around, and very quick interview/hiring process!!
I applied online. I interviewed at Whiting-Turner (Woodbury, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
Was contacted 2 years after applying. It was a 4 hours interview process. Firstly, the VP gave us a presentation on the company's history, their service, and portfolio of their work. Then they conducted 1:1 interview with 3 employees at various levels. The interviews were very casual and aimed at a conversations type of interview. Alot of behavioral types of questions involving your experience. Some of the question they asked were repeats of the other interviewers, which made the later interviews stale and repetitive. Alot of young workers, which made it easier to connect with. Then they offered lunch at the break room, where you talk with other candidates and employees. Lastly, the VP gave the last presentation on benefits.
