The recruiting process was extremely unprofessional. 12 days after submitting an application, I was contacted. I had a 45-minute phone interview, and was then asked to complete a one-way video interview. I was told that if I were passed through, the next step would be a final panel interview. I didn’t hear anything, and nine days later followed up with the initial interviewer. They responded by saying “good news! You’ve been selected for another interview!”, and I was scheduled for another 45 minute phone interview, with another individual. They had clearly not filled this person in on any of the things we’d discussed, especially logistics, and the second interviewer was under the impression that the first interviewer had given me info they certainly hadn’t. They thanked me profusely for my time and didn’t provide any information about next steps. The position had also been reposted during this time, as I received a LinkedIn notification about it. 12 days later I received a standard automatic decline email from their ATS, with language tailored to someone who hadn’t even been chosen for an interview. I sent a very cordial follow-up email to the initial interviewer (who was my point of contact) requesting feedback, as I had performed this exact role previously and was overqualified for the position. I never received a response. As someone who has years of recruiting experience, this is a perfect example of terrible, disrespectful recruiting practices. It shows a complete lack of regard for the time and energy of candidates, and is a major red flag when considering how a company will treat you as an employee.
