Interview
After their HR Director reached out to me, she set a date for our phone interview. My phone interview was conducted by one of their current iOS Developers. We got along well and chatted about some new technologies, then he proceed to ask some technical questions. I answered them the best I could, then he asked if I had questions for him. After the phone interview, I reached out later to the HR Director who then told me I had not been selected.

Interview
My interview began with Anna Lasker, the HR Director, reaching out to me on AngelList. From there we set up a time to have a phone interview. A couple days after that interview, I had a technical phone interview with an iOS Developer named Adam and then about a week later had a Google Hangout interview with the iOS Lead. After that I was told to come onsite for a day of interviewing where I would give a presentation about myself and meet/be interviewed by other members of the team. During my time onsite I had 4 interviews, 3 of which were technical. Everyone was very nice and welcoming and although the technical questions were not easy, I thought they were all very fair.

Question 1
What is the difference between a shallow and a deep copy?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wink (New York, NY) in Jul 2016
Interview
After applying on AngelList, I spoke to their iOS developer about Swift, emerging trends at this year's WWDC, and my past work experience with some followup technical questions. After a week I had a soft skills chat with the VP of engineering where we talked about our mutual excitement around the connected home space and technologies involved that make it work. After another several days I had a Google Hangout coding exercise with their iOS lead where we worked through a very typical/practical iOS problem set. Despite all of this, we still needed another interview. So after another two weeks I come into the wink office where we go through a brief presentation about myself, what I like, what I work on, what I'm proud of doing, and where I want to be. Following that, we have a series of algorithm white boarding exercises and then some soft skill and product chats with a designer and the CTO. After the month long process and feeling really great about how far I came, I was turned down for the position and they couldn't even give me an explanation as to why. If you value your time and don't want to get pushed around by a company that will probably have a difficult time dealing with the onslaught of HomeKit, I would advise you to do something more productive like play Pokémon Go.
