Process was normal, odd part is they had poor communication on the interview process. Didn’t not really give any feedback on what they are looking for. Overall though the process wasn’t bad I just wish it was a little more transparent so that time would not be wasted.

This was a phone screening with a Recruiter. After corresponding with the recruiter via email (was not timely with responses), The recruiter finally offered a time block for the screening. Once the day came for the screening, the Recruiter was 8 mins late for the call. The recruiter apologized for being behind by saying "i was looking at some reports and realized that i had a call". The recruiter asked the basics hiring process question however seemed to be fixated on salary request. The Recruiter went down the rabbit hole on how its illegal to ask about past or present salary and that i didnt have to give a salary desired. I told the recruiter i did research and i see its a salary range for the position and that i will be open to negotiate once the salary portion is discussed. The recruiter then went down the rabbit hole about wasting my time if i dont get the salary i want or Wintrust time if they cant pay what i want. I told the recruiter i dont understand this question if you are not able to discuss the salary when the Manager and HR of the company offer salary. The recruiter continued to reference time that they had left in the screening and rushed throught the final questions. This interaction left me uncomfortable that my resume would be passed along as a fit for the position.
