      Graduate Civil Engineer Interview

      Jan 15, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Reading, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wood (Reading, England) in Oct 2024

      Interview

      1. Online application with CV and Cover Letter. 2. Initial screening interview lasted 1 hour, more of a friendly chat asking why I want to join the company but also lots of questions about the oil industry itself and what the company does. Unsuccessful to the next stage.

      Interview

Process was smooth and everything went well they were quick giving me a response. I was told I would be reimbursed for travel money and have not received anything since, I hope this changes as no one wants to go out of there way to spend money on travel when. 1. They don’t recieve an offer 2. Mislead on travel expenses.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Loads of competency questions, same questions asked by different members of staff. Group exercises as well.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Wood (Knutsford, England) in Feb 2019

      Interview

Overall good process. I applied online, did the online tests, and a pre-recorded video interview then was called to the final assessment centre. The AC started with a friendly intro from HR team an explanation for what the coming tasks will be. First, a group activity of ranking the most important aspects to be considered when working with a new contractor. Later we had to summarise a fairly technical document . Later we had a technical interview for 15 minutes with two staff members, and we finished with a presentation for 10 minutes in front of 4 staff members. The team was easy going and friendly, the process was not stressful at all, and the location is nice.
