I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at WorkNest (Chester, England) in Apr 2024
Interview
My comments could be seen as a review based on ‘an interview rejection’ but ultimately the way Worknest managed their recruitment process at Exec level was beyond any level of professionalism and courtesy that should be expected by any candidate.
Five interviews over a four and a half month interview process.
They never met any of their timeline commitments - feedback promised within a week of interviews - invariably always ended up getting feedback 3/4 weeks afterwards at every stage.
They requested significant detail and preparation behind each interview and specifically 90 min presentations as part of 2 of the 5 interview processes with their SLT, but gave no feedback at any stage of the process around ‘why’ I’d been progressed to the next round of interviews.
After 4.5 months and apparently getting down to the last two (their words) and after a commitment to communicate within a week, it took them three weeks to reject me…. by a cursory voicemail message from the CEO.
At no stage did they even show a human side to their business and culture. The interview process was totally one-sided and often felt like a police interrogation.
At the final stage of the process - a 90 min presentation with their SLT, the CEO confirmed that they were debating the profile of the Chief Sales Officer role and whether it was a ‘company level’ role, or ‘group level’ role. This was at the final stage of a 4.5 month interview process !
Admittedly in hindsight, maybe my culture / skill fit wasn’t right but I would have expected a substantially greater level of professionalism to the candidate experience and rejection process…. particularly after the preparation that was required through a 4.5 month interview process. And after that last voicemail rejection, there’s been no follow up from the CEO or HRD to even discuss the reasons for rejection or thank me for my commitment to the interview process.
Avoid this company at all costs - they make out they’re professional but they are far from it.

We always appreciate and acknowledge any feedback and we thank you for taking the time to bring your comments to our attention. You will appreciate that the appointment to any of our vacancies is extremely important to us, perhaps even more so when appointing to our Executive team hence the need for a longer process which took 2.5 months from the initial Teams interview. We're very sorry that this seems to have impacted your perception of the business. Whilst we received several compliments from many unsuccessful candidates regarding our approach and our culture we will, of course, take on board your comments and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours.
