I had an interview with Workday Ireland for Senior Software Engineer few months back. During the first email conversation I shared an incorrect mobile number (one digit typo), which I corrected immediately in a next email. Since then, whenever I had a phone call with him he would call to that incorrect number and I had to call him and had to remind him that it was not the correct number (Even though my correct number is always there in my signature). The interview was decent till the last round. I got positive vibes from the interviewers. After one week of silence after the last round, I asked for status of the interview. He replied that he would call me the next day. And without any mistake he called that incorrect phone number. As usual I called him after waiting 5 minutes. He mentioned that final response yet to come but we can have salary discussion. He mentioned all the components in details and explained the salary breakup. After the call again two weeks of silence. Again I asked for the status and he replied that the position has been given to someone else and that other guy yet to accept the offer. So, I have some little hope to get the job (as if he is doing a great favor to me by saying this). In the meantime I got the offer from another company and joined there. After two months of the last email conversation the recruiter again emailed me for a phone discussion for the same position. Just sharing this experience for the Workday recruiters so that they can treat interview candidates as a human being and respect their time and effort the invest in the interview. Thanks you!
