I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at World Market (Fairfax, VA) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied online with several nearby store locations, through worldmarket.com. I was contacted by 2 out of the 3 stores I applied at, based on my extensive previous retail experience. I decided to only interview with the one closest to me. The interview was fairly informal, with the GM, and he asked me questions that were pre-determined by CPWM corporate. Some questions like: "Give an example of a time when you had a disagreement with a supervisor. How did you handle it?" "Give an example of a time when you had to resolve a problem. How did you handle it?" etc. etc. Most all questions were this way. I was also asked why I wanted to work there, what interested me most about CPWM, if I could handle asking people to sign up for WME, if I knew what the WME program was, why they should hire me, etc.

Question 1
I don't feel the interview was at all difficult, nor the questions unexpected or hard to answer. For someone new to interviewing or the job market, I could see it being somewhat of a challenge.
I applied for the job online and got a call from the hiring manager, I think the same day. The call was basically an interview for about 10 mins, and then they said they would call me back later. When they called me back soon after, they told me I had gotten the job.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at World Market (Southlake, TX) in Nov 2022
Interview
Very short, ten to fifteen minutes. Basic questions about your work ethic. Simple, casual, and straightforward. Conducted on one of the tables in the dining furniture section during store hours. Response time is about one to two weeks via email.
I applied online. I interviewed at World Market in Oct 2019
Interview
Super quick and informal but I got a very good idea of the overall store and atmosphere. Sat & chatted with a manager for about 20 minutes. They have a list of questions they ask from. All were straight forward and not too hard.
