I don't typically go and 'tattle' online, but I think it might be good for others to know what they are in for. The interview process ran in 4 stages over the course of 2 weeks. First, I spoke with a recruiter. Second, I spoke with my would-be manager. Thirdly, I spoke with a department VP and IT/client service expert. Fourthly, I was asked to present ideas to improve their client's business, as a consultant. I invested probably 16 hours into my presentation. I read and took notes on over 60 pages of material. I created an information-dense presentation with thoughtful recommendations. I would have expected at least a phone call, to talk about the positives and negatives of my presentation and tell me the result. I never received a phone call. I called and sent emails to follow up. I got one email saying that they had gone another direction. So, after 3 interviews and a presentation that took me maybe 2 working days to complete, all I get is "thanks, but no." Truly, if they were a prospect, that is probably all I would get. But they know I'm looking for a job (I'm unemployed), so why not just share some insights or feedback? I unfortunately got the sense that these people don't care about anyone but themselves.
