I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at XiFin (San Diego, CA) in Nov 2012
Interview
I was initially contacted via LinkedIN email by a member of their HR department with a few specific questions regarding my background and experience. Then i was contacted by the hiring manager / department VP to schedule an interview with the executive manager, AVP and department manager. I first met with HR for about an hour or so, discussing policy and process expectations prior to starting. Afterwards i met with the hiring manager, COO and department manager. It was a very friendly and jovial interview, which told me that underneath it all they were NOT like that as a regular daily character trait.

Question 1
They didn't ask me specific questions like "what was your most difficult challenge and how did you overcome it", the questions were more to get at how i would leverage my experience from previous positions and in other industries and transition effectively into this more technical and detail heavy position.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at XiFin
Interview
Scripted, everyone seems friendly. They explained the position, elaborated on the high-learning curve and industry as a whole. Human Resources called back within 2 weeks, took awhile for them to get the offer letter prepared.
