I submitted my application online and 3 hours later received an email asking me to interview via phone. I scheduled myself for an interview two days later. It was by far the worst interview ever. To begin with, the person interviewing me called me 20 minutes late. I was on my lunch break so didn't have much time to spare, but agreed to her unapologetic request to continue with the phone interview. The questions were the same exact ones seen here (i.e. why sales? why are you leaving your current job? what is yelp?), so no surprises there. Everything was very rushed, and it was obvious that she had no interest in speaking to me let alone interviewing me. She would ask me questions that I had already answered "no" to, but proceed as if I had answered "yes". I'd have to correct her and say, "sorry but I actually said no to the previous question, not yes". When it came time to ask her questions, she would respond with one-worded answers, with absolutely zero interest in elaborating. Additionally, when she wouldn't understand my question, she'd respond with "whatdya mean?" instead of a polite "I'm sorry, I didn't understand your question. Can you please repeat it?" like any other trained professional giving an interview. At first I thought the interview was a joke and she was acting tough on purpose (i.e. testing me), but I've come to realize that she was a complete rookie--I wouldn't even go so far as to call her a working professional. If you want to work with rude managers that obviously hate their jobs, then definitely look into Yelp!
