The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Yelp (Phoenix, AZ) in Nov 2010
Interview
I applied for the position online, within a couple days I received an email inviting me to partake in a phone interview. The phone interview was quick, maybe 15 minutes. A woman asked me what I know about yelp, if I was willing to relocate, to tell her about myself and then in 30 seconds or less why I was a goof fit for this position. She then told me she would like to set up another sit down interview via skype since I was out of state. I received an email that day with options for my skype/on site interview. The skype interview consisted of 3 separate 15 minute interviews with 3 different men. They asked me to sell them a yelp ade, to role play, they asked what I was passionate about, my strengths and weaknesses, why I wanted to work for yelp, what I would do if I was not reaching my quotas and those around me were. They were not very clear with directions on the role playing so it was awkward trying to read the other person on when we were done with that. Also their internet connection was bad so we kept getting cut off. One of the interviewer's was very nice and personable. The other two were not very clear with what they were asking and a little rude when I tried to clarify. When I asked the interviewers questions about the company the 2 less personable men gave me a bad feeling about the position. I left the interview feeling unsure if I actually wanted to work with these people and weather it was a job worth relocating for.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (Wake Forest, NC)
Interview
Very professional, informative, and timely interview process. I was very impressed with how well put together the entire process was and how fast things moved. Everyone on the hiring team was extremely punctual and even willing to take extra time to make sure all your questions are answered.
