      Sales Ops/Contracts Specialist Interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yes Energy (Boulder, CO) in May 2021

      Interview

TL;DR - This is a company that will make you go through multiple interviews for a position they've already earmarked for someone on their team. The first interview went relatively well and I was advanced to speak with the hiring manager. At the time of the interview I saw that there wasn’t a link to join a meeting in the calendar invite HR sent me. I had to scramble to get a hold of the hiring manager directly to find out how to set up an interview with her and thankfully coordinated a meeting over Zoom. The interview goes well and I’m invited to, supposedly, the final interview which will take place at the office. When I show up to the interview I find that 2 out of 4 members of the panel interview are participating via zoom. If I was asked to take a day off of work to come to the office then I would think that the hiring team would respect my time enough to do the same but apparently not. No worries though, the interview goes well and I wait for a final decision. The following day I’m given an hour notice that there is a 4th interview that I can set up either the same day or the following afternoon. I proceed with the final interview (thankfully over zoom) and this also seems to go well. The following day I receive a generic email letting me know that they’ve chosen to move forward with an INTERNAL candidate. I don’t know why companies put candidates through this song and dance just to turn around and fill a position with someone that is already on their team. This practice is disrespectful to applicants and an abuse of job boards like Indeed and LinkedIn.
