Question 1
What have your family members said to you when they found out you were applying for a job in jail?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at YesCare (Florence, AZ) in Sep 2014
Interview
Simple and straight forward. The most important part is the tour to see if you are comfortable working in a correctional environment. You are asked about your counseling and mental health background, but that is secondary to your ability to work with incarcerated individuals. It was helpful to interview with a colleague and speak with current employees to get a feel of what is required and how day to day operations are conducted. Make sure you ask questions and understand where you will be working as there are several different places where you can work.
