Interview
I was so thrilled to receive an interview with Yext. My phone screening went really well, and so did my on-site interview. I loved everyone I spoke with, and I felt like they stressed skill and personality fit equally.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yext (New York, NY) in Aug 2016
Interview
I applied through an employee referral and was scheduled for a phone screening soon after.
The phone screening was easy going, more conversational and walking HR through your resume and working experience. I felt knowledgable about the company and the specific role and well prepared for the interview in general. Even at the end of the conversation I was very upfront with asking if he had any reservations or concerns about me fulfilling the role. He told me he felt I was a strong fit for the position and to expect to hear back later that week. I sent at least 2 follow up emails with no response. Finally after almost 2 weeks, I got a generated decline email.
It was upsetting that the recruiter/HR was misleading about my chances with the opportunity. Waiting to hear back from a job opportunity is one of the most excruciating things so I feel they need to do a better job with being transparent about the process.
