I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yext (London, England) in Nov 2020
Interview
- Recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn + Call
- Test (English & French) + interview with head of department and manager
- Interview in French
- Interview in French
- Interview in Italian
The interview process took place over 2 weeks and scheduling each step was done very efficiently. However, despite being told that I had "passed" each step with flying colours, Yext kept delaying their decision which took about 5 weeks of waiting. After 2 full weeks of not hearing back from the recruiter even though he told me to be patient with them so they could get all the documents ready, I was told that Yext decided to hire for a different language combination.
Today, the same recruiter got in touch again via LinkedIn with the same template message for the same role and the same languages. I found the process incredibly deceptive and disrespectful for my as well as Yext's employees' time. I would not work for a company that treats its prospective employees this "casually".
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Knowledge of Yext
- Behavioural questions
- Client relations questions with commonly occurring scenarios: "What would you do/day if a client asked/said X?"
- Written and verbal test/interview with the same type of questions
The interview process was very straight forward and efficient with clear communication from the recruiter at each stage. The technical assessment was an Excel take home assessment, which was open book.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about the most challenging project you've worked on.
Started with a writing test, the prompt: Please write down detailed directions for your new neighbor so they can drive to your house for a party. Then spoke with multiple people across different teams.
Hiring team fails to inform you throughout the interview process and doesn’t reply to emails. Very unprofessional for a company of that size. They completely ghost on you to inform you of anything.
