Interview
Phone screening by recruiter was followed by two one-on-one interviews, and a panel interview where we worked through a product strategy scenario. Overall, it was a great experience, and I was thrilled to accept the offer!

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to convince leadership to change directions.
It was fine, everyone was pleasant, but two main problems stood out that applicants with a tech background should be aware of. One, I didn't find the product discussion to go that deep. I found the questions to be pretty basic/surface level, and the interviewers didn't go into a lot of digging or detail compared to other companies. Two, they asked for a lot of technical skills in their job postings, but the Product Managers themselves didn't even have the qualifications to interview on those topics in the first place. If they had a round with Engineering as part of the process, that'd be one thing, but they obviously were going to reject me because they had no way to accurately assess my candidacy. I've really lost interest in trying again with them. For those with a technical background, you really shouldn't waste your time here, because this is yet another case of generalist business PMs thinking they know how to talk to Engineers.

Don't want to disclose specifics, but I'll say the questions were as simple as Product questions get. No questions on tech.
Very thorough, professional, and enjoyable interview process. I met with many team members and got a very positive impression throughout. Questions ranged from technical to behavioral in nature. The interviewers made an effort to engage me and we worked through problems collaboratively.
