Went through multiple rounds of interview. Then I was assigned a lengthy take home exercise. Upon completion of this exercise I was then notified that they are taking a pause from their search for this position and will re-open the search “soon” and will notify me when it is open again. It has been months and still have not received any updates. It essentially felt like they utilized the process to have me do an assignment for them.
Hello,
Thank you so much for your detailed and candid feedback!
At YipitData we strive to deliver excellent candidate experience and we sincerely apologize for missing the mark on this one.
We regret that your effort didn’t result in an offer at this time, but we understand the amount of effort that goes into the take home exercise, and can feel your frustration on not receiving enough communication on the timeline. We will use your feedback to improve our process and ensure that all candidates who go through the recruiting process at YipitData feel valued for their time and effort in our process regardless of the final result of their candidacy.
Thank you again for your feedback.
All the best,

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData (New York, NY) in Nov 2021
Interview
This company truly values and empathizes with their employees and seeks to ensure the prospective candidate aligns well with their culture, making the interview process slightly drawn out, but thorough, as they require interviewing with multiple team members from several different departments. I was very grateful that they sped up the process for me since I had a pending offer in the works, and wanted to move forward with the YipitData interview. Their need to vet their employees is understandable and gives the team a good sense of the person they are hiring, as well as legitimizing their choice in the candidate to whom they offer the position, ensuring that that person is the best and most qualified fit.
I was nervous to interview with six people, however, each person was very approachable, willing to share and be transparent, and were overall, just nice human beings. I enjoyed my zoom chats with each of them, and was really impressed, as they are all highly accomplished and intelligent, driven professionals. In speaking with them, I learned a lot about the company's structure and ethos, which only furthered my respect for YD.
Overall, the interview process was enjoyable, although long, but I appreciated the take-home assignment and the feedback I received, as well as the conversations (interviews) I had with six different team members. In the end, I had to regretfully decline the role, but feel it would have been a dream job.
