      Interview

I really enjoyed my interviews with YipitData! They moved very quickly throughout the process, every step I was able to gain a better assessment of the role at hand, and similarly they did on my skillset to ensure a proper fit. Overall one of the best interview processes I have been a part of!

      Business Development Executive Interview

      Apr 20, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Dallas, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at YipitData (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Process was extremely lengthy and cumbersome. Included two rounds with a manager and current BDE. If you pass those two rounds then you have to conduct an e-mail exercise and role play. If you pass the role play, you then have to pass a round robin with six other employees from several different business functions. After passing all those rounds, I received a written offer that was not the same comp structure as what was verbally promised by the manager. Additionally, I was to be a remote employee but it was not explained upfront that you are responsible for paying New York taxes since Yipit is headquartered there and newer tax laws were put in place for telecommuters. You can only avoid the New York telecommuter tax if you report to a “hub” office located in different parts of the country. However, the one I was closest to was a shared work space with 8 desks that was first come first serve. Yipit also was not going to cover a $240/month parking fee and the $20 fob access fee. Ultimately, there were several miscommunications and lack of transparency in regards to tax implications of working remote for a company headquartered in New York.

We greatly appreciate the amount of time and effort that you’ve put into the interview process at YipitData, and sincerely apologize for missing the mark on providing an excellent candidate experience this time. As we hire remotely across the U.S. we’ve been making a conscious effort to ensure that we communicate various implications of working remotely as early in the process as possible (e.g. including the potential tax implication and salary information as part of the job description). We have had an internal discussion regarding your feedback and will incorporate your feedback to improve our process and ensure that the information we provide to our candidates is shared timely and accurately. Thank you again for your time and for sharing feedback with us, and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData in Jan 2022

      Interview

It was a very thorough interview process and that was conveyed from the beginning of the process and throughout. The HR team, along with the Business Development team were always in communication throughout the interview process and were quick to provide feedback about what did and did not go well so you always knew where you stood and whether you would advance to the next round. Everyone I met was extremely friendly and asked thoughtful questions while also sharing plenty of information throughout. They also offered to be resources at any point of the later stages and really meant it. Even though it was a length process, it was to ensure that all candidates would fit the culture at YipitData.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why YipitData? What would you bring to the table if you joined YipitData? What do you want to do in 5 years? 10 Years? Where do you see yourself?
