Interview
Terrible interview experience with two team members. Expressed no interest in my background/projects. One team member asked only one question and said absolutely nothing for 30 minutes. I did not get a chance to ask a single question about Yotpo.
I understand that I may not have been the best fit for the position but there needs to be better communication between recruiters who screen the resumes and the hiring managers. I also recommend training interviewers on interview etiquette.

Question 1
1. What courses helped you get into X position?
2. What kind of college did you go to?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yotpo (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2024
Interview
I invested significant time and effort into the interview process, expecting professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, my experience fell short due to poor communication and eventual ghosting by the hiring team. Despite a positive start—including a call with the recruiter, a smooth behavioral interview with the hiring manager, and promises of a home assignment—I received no follow-up. The recruiter had assured me of an update within a week, but after weeks of silence and unanswered emails, it became clear no decision would be shared.
This lack of communication, especially after candidates dedicate time to interviews (in my case, during the holidays), reflects poorly on Yotpo’s culture and values.
What could have been done better?
1. Timely Communication: A brief rejection email would have shown respect for my time.
2. Transparency: Clear timelines and consistent updates could have avoided frustration.
3. Professional Courtesy: Responding to follow-up emails, even if delayed, demonstrates honesty and respect.

2. Why are interested in working at Yotpo?
3. How do your resolve conflicts?
4. How do you prioritize work load?
5. How do you explain a technical concept to a non technical audience?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Yotpo (New York, NY) in Sep 2021
Interview
Very easygoing, good explanation of the role and day-to-day responsibilities. Interviewer was friendly and answered all my questions. I had a good sense of what was expected and felt I would be informed about the next steps in the hiring process. The downside to this experience was that, despite the good rapport with the screener, I never heard from that person again. I was ghosted right after the call, and received no response to my three follow-up emails over the next four weeks, which was rather disappointing. It would've been respectful to find if either the position had been filled by another candidate, or if I was found to not be a match. Instead, radio silence.
