I discovered this role on LinkedIn, applied on the company’s site, and completed a thorough interview process including a phone screen, a conversation with the hiring manager, team interviews, and a strategy presentation. The hiring manager, the Group Lead of Demand Generation Marketing, displayed a lack of professionalism that raised serious concerns about the company culture. Despite my intensive preparation, she appeared distracted, often looking off-camera and speaking with someone else. I was asked only two questions—one about my background and another about a top-of-funnel strategy she wanted created on the spot with minimal information provided. She had no follow-up questions, which made it feel as though she was primarily interested in free consulting rather than my candidacy.
Her remarks about the dominant company culture were troubling, as she implied a lack of support for anyone who might require guidance. Additionally, her demeanor came across as abrasive and dismissive. Having worked with prestigious global enterprises, I found this interaction exceptionally unprofessional. This experience left me with deep reservations about the company’s approach to inclusion and respect within the workplace, and I withdrew my application afterward.
