      Sales Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at YouVisit (New York, NY) in Mar 2014

      Interview

My interview process went pretty smoothly for me. I was introduced to the company via a recruiter which I rarely use. Being in sales, if I see a company that I want to work for I will just pick up the phone and start an exploratory call. This was the first time I found true value in the recruiting process as i wasn't initially looking for a new position. At first I was told that they are extremely selective in their hiring and the position had been open for a while which was not really great to hear but I did want to explore the opportunity as it looked like an awesome company with cool solutions. I initially had an interview with the recruiter, then moved to a conversation with the head of sales, then I made it to the presentation round where I had to prepare my own presentation on the YV products, then I made it to the C-level meeting round where i was asked all sorts of relevant sales related questions but also situational questions. Hiring is hard for any company but it was a good interview process. I had been on a few in my career that more standard behavior based with generic questions and I am never a fan of those. I got the sense right away that I would be a culture fit, I was confident that I could sell the product very well as it aligns pretty closely with my past positions, and overall that C-Level meeting went smoothly. We shook hands, I differentiated myself enough, and I received my offer. I needed to make a few adjustments to that offer and they were very accommodating to those adjustments which helped to make my decision an easier one. Overall the process was exactly as it should be and this is an AWESOME company to work for. I really liked the fact that after i came aboard the experience has been better than I expected which is usually a great sign. Take the shot at interviewing... it is one incredible opportunity!
