      Senior Game Programmer Interview

      Oct 5, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Z2 (Seattle, WA)

      Interview

Phone screen with HR, then an on-site that turned out to be completely non-technical. Second on-site with three interviews, two technical and one old fashioned brain teaser. The tech interviews weren't difficult, and in both cases I was surprised that the interviewer was very new to the company. The interviews went fine, but I was not shy about noting that they have a very negative online reputation and asking what they were doing to right those issues. They never really tried to convince me that the reputation was undeserved or that they were working to improve things, but predictably didn't extend an offer. To their credit, they moved incredibly fast so the whole thing was over in a few days.

      Question 1

That one question that every uncreative interviewer who wants to seem creative asks. You know, the one about vertical conveyances.
