The initial phone interview was with the Human Resources Manager. The interview went OK. The manager asked me several questions around my expectations of the position as well as some questions that could be used to determine team fit. I has a technical interview scheduled for later in the day which I ultimately canceled as I was not interested in working at ZApproved due to lower salary expectations on their part as well a limited benefit package. ZApproved is definitely a start up and as such is lean on benefits. Also, their lack of defined PTO (and sick leave which is required by the city of Portland when PTO is defined) also made me rethink the position.
