After I graduated from college, my plan was to relocate to Denver with friends from school. I spent my summer at home - saving money and researching companies in the greater Denver area. A few weeks before my expected move date, someone told me to check out Zen Planner for available positions. After researching the company (which was listed as one of the best places to work in Outdoor magazine in 2013), I was more than impressed - I was hooked! I sent in my cover letter/resume and received an email from them roughly one week later to set up a preliminary interview over the phone. What should've lasted 30 minutes lasted almost an hour -- their head of HR is fantastic and we really clicked. We scheduled an in-person interview and a few weeks later, I made the trip out to Denver with my fingers crossed. The in person interview was by far, the best interview experience I've ever had. I first spoke with the Senior Lead Acquisition Specialist who just exudes positive energy. She explained the role, which involves setting up software demos for the sales specialist team (among other things). After speaking to her, I talked to the Director of Sales, the head of HR, the Controller, and the COO. My visit to the office lasted roughly 3 hours. Overall, it's clear that the team really values its culture -- which. is. awesome. They asked me to come in the next day to meet a few more people at a career fair. At this career fair, they offered food and drinks (beer included), encouraging everyone to meet as many people as possible. I recommend applying.
