      Digital Marketing Manager Interview

      Feb 12, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zendesk (London, England) in Jan 2018

      Interview

Impeccable recruitment process, absolutely lovely people, and an incredibly promising company. The level of professionalism I found at Zendesk was well above my expectations from the market. And this continued even after the role was offered to another candidate. 6 of the 7 interviews were held online, and the final one was in the London office. All logistics were seamless.

      Question 1

Hands-on case studies which were quite fun in my case. Simple math questions.

      Digital Marketing Manager Interview

      May 14, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zendesk (San Francisco, CA) in May 2019

      Interview

I was contacted by recruiter and process took 1 month. I had a phone screening call with recruiter and after the call she asked me to calculate super basic search marketing related question. Then, I did video call with hiring manager then I passed this step and they sent me a case. I attended to 1st onsite and had an interview with hiring manager and present the case. then, I was invited to 2nd onsite this time with 3 persons. In each interview, they were asking super easy performance realted math questions (I think that they were trying to evalute analytical skill by doing that but this totally does not make sense) If I would not remind they were not asking any culture related question. (this also shows that their performance marketing department does not have unique culture yet. They also could not give clear answer on culture related questions) I can say that all of the hiring process was super technical. (Btw I noticed that hiring manager was not awere of the some of the Google Adwords features. I was super shocked) They only ask techincal questions. After my 2nd onsite, they invited to me one more phone call since I was not able to convince the performance director. She came to phone interview 10 minutes late (we had 30minutes) and asked me 7 performance related math questions and some fake cultural questions. Same day, recruiter asked me to prepare my references and told me that they will call them as soon as possible. (which means that they want to share an offer) However, 3 days later they wrote me very short e-mail and said that decided to not move forward. This was supper funny and annoying! I had talked with my references and ask permission but they decided to not move forward. I feel super lucky since this was a super signal that they do not have a structured system even in hiring process and their performance marketing team is super unprofessional and they can not align among themselves. Luckily, I did not have chance to join their super unprofessional team. I definitely do not recommend all of you to not spend time with Zendesk marketing team. They really does not worth for your time!
