I was contacted by someone in talent acquisition to understand whether I might be interested in joining. Having expressed my interest, I first had a screening chat. Then a 30 minutes interview with the hiring manager (who by the way spent the first ten minutes of the interview thinking I was interviewing for a different role he had open). Then 30 mins with someone in a similar role, but for a different region followed by 30 mins with the hiring manager's manager. After that, I was invited to the final step, a panel presentation. The panel consisted of the the people I already spoke to, plus representatives from sales. They liked my presentation and I was offered the job. What happened from there was unlike anything I've explained before. Presented with the contract, I sent some feedback, with some things that I would like amended. Every iteration took forever, as the talent acquisition had to go back to an HR specialist, then back to me. And if the answer gave rise to more questions on my part, we started the journey again. There was absolutely no room for adjustments to the standard contract. After four working days I finally had a picture of what the context looked like and was getting ready to sign. Literally minutes before I wanted to sign, I get a call that they'd decided to retract their offer. They did not like the many questions I had on the contract... So as you can see under Interview Outcome, yes, I got an offer and I did accept, but they decided to pull it back again because I didn't sign the contract fast enough. What a peculiar experience!!
