Phone screen with hiring manager (no HR), then asked to develop and present high-level market assessment and business plan to integrated team of product marketing and product management. I was told "not to spend too much time on it" but even a cursory job took 20+ hours of work to prepare! Following the group presentation, I had several one-on-one interviews the same day. A week or so later I had a call on general status which was positive and then was invited to a lunch with the hiring manager's boss. This was for a new product initiative and I think they used the interview process to collect ideas from candidates. They said they weren't prepared to talk to customers to better understand needs and/or pilot a new product nor did they want to do other market research to flesh out the idea and quantify the benefit as I suggested. They explained it was not culturally their way to do things. In the end, they pulled the job without filling it. The job really required a mix of strategy, research, and marketing aspects so my wider-than-most range of experience seemed a fit but I think they wanted a more junior, more deeply experienced software product marketer.
