I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Zerto in Dec 2015
Interview
I applied online. After my application I had a brief call with the hiring manager where he described the role and got some initial information on my experience and background. After this I never heard back from them again, not even a formal decline of my application.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Zerto (Darmstadt) in Sep 2014
Interview
I knew a few Zerto employees from a project we had done together in my current company. I was convinced of Zerto's strenght and success from the time I first encountered the product. So over the time the sales rep asked me if I'd liked to join the company.
I sent a short email to a senior manager I mentioned earlier and he set my application on the way.
First of all: it was a long process and I had to stick on the topic like glue ;) The decisisonmaker is a very busy person, travelling many different timezones so communication was sometimes not very easy.
They liked me and my skills pretty much and siganlized that they would like to give me the job - but my notice period is very long (3 months) so that was what looked to kill my chance. But what should I say? My endurance and personal commitment kept me in the game and I will start my new career with Zerto in a few weeks and will be the first German Presales Guy with Zerto...
