I was called for an interview after writing a test code. The hiring manager was not interested in having me there at all and was watching his phone all the time. Then I met the guys who reviewed my code and they were highly impressed by what I had done. The manager called me and said they didn't offer me the position, I asked why and he said I had no SQL experience which is laughable. However, kudos to him for calling me. Nowadays, even an email is too much to ask for.
